Percussion Lessons

I began percussion in 6th grade, in the school band, and trained to learn the different rhythms on snare drum, as well as learning to read music for the xylophone - first training just with the other percussionists. As we progressed, we then joined the rest of the band, and started playing as a group. I was able to be the first chair percussionist at all-city band in Plano, Texas in 8th grade. In 9th and 10th grade, I played snare drum in the drumline for marching band. I also took a drumset class, have become good at playing drumset, and can teach for drumset if you have the set. I do not own one at the time. If you have a drumset, though, we can do video lessons in which I can play beats and licks using my keyboard-drumset, explaining them to you, and you on the other end can play them on your real drumset as I explain how to.


I can also teach "snare drum" via a practice pad on a stand at my studio (for video or in person lessons), or xylophone. For snare, we would cover all kinds of rudiments and rhythms and snare drum solos, using various material. For xylophone, we would work scales and pieces and sheet music reading using curriculum.

Rate:
$25 - 30 min lesson
$30 - 45 min lesson
$35 - 1 hour lesson

Try Greg out the first week just paying for that lesson, and if you like it and desire to continue, payments are made monthly (the cost of 4 weekly lessons paid ahead of time). If you miss a week, we can seek to find a makeup time if desired.

I will have my smartphone clipped into a holder that can get a nice bird's eye view of my hands and my keyboard.
